2024 Statewide Primary Election

In North Carolina, the statewide primary election is Tuesday, March 5, 2024, sometimes known as Super Tuesday. This election will determine which candidate from each party will be on the ballot in the general election in November. More voter resources can be found here.

2024 Offices Up For Election

This year is a big one for elections. For North Carolina voters, the following offices are up for election. Depending on where you’re voting from, you may also find local municipal races on your ballot as well. Be sure to look through a sample ballot ahead of time to see who’s running in your district (voter lookup can be found here).

2024 Statewide General Election Dates:

  • Jan. 2024: Absentee ballots become available.
  • Feb. 9, 2024: Civilian voter registration deadline, including party affiliation.  After this point, only same-day registration during one-stop early voting is available.
  • Feb. 15, 2024: One-stop, in-person early voting period begins. Talley Student Union is a voting location for early voting.
  • Feb. 27, 2024: Deadline for civilians to submit an absentee ballot request form.
  • Mar. 2, 2024: One-stop, in-person early voting period ends at 3 pm.
  • Mar. 5, 2024: Election Day and civilian absentee ballot return deadline. Talley Student Union is not a voting location on Election Day.
