Early Voting on Campus
Whether this is your first time voting, you need to update your voter registration, or you've voted in the past, this page has the essential information you need to know to vote early in person at NC State.
What is early voting?
Early voting is commonly also called “One-Stop (Early) Voting”. This is because individuals may register and vote at the same time during the early voting period.
During the early voting period, voters may cast a ballot at any early voting site in their county. This is different than Election Day, when registered voters must vote at their assigned polling place.

While the in-person early voting period is October 15-31, the early voting site is open only during select hours.

Where is early voting on campus?
For the November 2026 General Election, the on-campus early voting site will be at 1220 Varsity Dr (Western Blvd. Business Services).
When is early voting on campus?
Any eligible Wake County voter may vote at any Wake County early voting site, including at 1220 Varsity Dr. It is important to note that this is not an Election Day site.

Voter registration during early voting
Registering to vote is required before you can cast your ballot. During early voting, you can register and vote at the same time at an early voting site such as on campus at 1220 Varsity Drive. Review the information below to be prepared to register during early voting.
Check your voter registration
It is always a good idea to double-check whether you are currently registered to vote and where. Use the North Carolina State Board of Elections Voter Search to see if you are registered in Wake County.
Same-day registration during early voting
You can register to vote for the first time or update your voter registration at an early voting site such as 1220 Varsity Drive on campus. This process is convenient and easy! All you need to bring is a form of photo ID (such as your Wolfpack One Card) and a “proof of residence” document to the early voting site. Poll workers can help guide you through the process on-site.
Common “proof of residence” documents include:
- NC State University Address Verification Letter
- A North Carolina driver’s license with your current address
- A current utility bill, bank statement, cell phone bill with name and address
- A government check, paycheck, or other government document/correspondence with name and address
- Lease agreement or rental contract with name and address
