Proof of Residence using MyPack Portal

NC State students: Follow these instructions to use a university Address Verification letter as proof of residence.

If you are registering to vote for the first time or updating your voter registration at an early voting site, please follow the instructions below to obtain a “proof of residence” required by North Carolina law. NC State students, living on or off campus, should confirm their local address is current in MyPack Portal, then follow the instructions below to use a university Address Verification letter as proof of residence.

MyPack Portal Address Verification Letter Instructions

Select “Addresses” from the left menu.

Click “Print Address Verification”.

Present the letter via your mobile device or a printed copy to the North Carolina State Board of Elections to register and vote at the early voting site at 1220 Varsity Drive.

Other acceptable proofs of residence

There are other acceptable proofs of residence; these commonly include:

A North Carolina driver’s license with your current address
A current utility bill, bank statement or cell phone bill with name and address
A government check, paycheck or other government document/correspondence with name and address
Lease agreement or rental contract with name and address
